Peshawar: The Awami National Party (ANP) has demanded an apology from former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for calling the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) foolish.
ANP spokesperson Samar Bilour stated that it is unacceptable for a leader of the Muslim League-N, who has served as the Prime Minister three times, to refer to the people of a province as foolish. These words were spoken at a time when his daughter was running an electoral campaign in the same province; these people will now be asked to vote for her with what face.
Bilour mentioned that in the past, the same party had denied us our rights, and Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Abdul Wali Khan announced breaking away from the alliance. Perhaps today, Nawaz Sharif is once again repeating history.
She stated that we are aware that every person holding a domicile of Punjab is considered respectable in this country, but representatives of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are still alive. Bilour further added that they not only condemn this act but also demand that Nawaz Sharif withdraw his words and apologize to the entire nation.
