San Francisco: Sending emails through Google’s Gmail service has become even more effortless as Google has introduced a new feature for users called “Help Me Write.”
According to details, this new feature is built on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which assists users in drafting emails. Through this feature, Gmail users can provide textual guidance to the AI bot, which, in turn, generates the desired email content based on the instructions.
To use the feature, users need to open Gmail on their computers, click on “Compose,” and select “Help me write (Labs).” They can then enter a prompt, such as “A thank you letter for my job interview” or any other topic, including the recipient and desired tone. After entering the prompt, users click “Create,” and the AI generates a draft based on the instructions.
For improved results, users can refine the generated draft by choosing options such as “Formalize,” “Elaborate,” “Shorten,” or “I’m Feeling Lucky.” These options allow users to customize the tone, level of detail, or length of the draft according to their preferences.
Additionally, users can provide feedback on the generated text by clicking “Good suggestion” or “Bad suggestion,” with the option to share more details. The feature also allows users to create new versions of the text or continue refining the suggested text.
The development team is working on expanding the feature to enable users to provide instructions through speech, offering a hands-free alternative to keyboard input. The focus is on enhancing speed and efficiency to further streamline the email drafting process for Gmail users.
It is reported that users will soon have access to another convenience through this feature, allowing them to accomplish tasks by simply speaking instead of using a keyboard to provide instructions. The development of this new feature is underway with a focus on speed and efficiency.
