Tel Aviv: A violent incident unfolded near Tel Aviv, Israel, resulting in at least 1 death and 18 people sustaining injuries as a suspect, reportedly driving a stolen vehicle, ran over pedestrians in the city of Raanana, situated north of Tel Aviv.
According to media reports, in the Israeli city of Raanana an incident, 20km north of Tel Aviv, an incident involving a car attack and stabbing took place that killed at least 1 person and wounded 18 others. Witnesses suggested that the incident might have involved a carjacking that led to a collision with the stolen vehicle.
The victims were promptly attended to by emergency services, with 3 Israelis including a 70-year-old woman in critical condition, as per Israel’s national ambulance service, Magen David Adom (MDA). The elderly woman reportedly died after sustaining injuries. Paramedics classified eight individuals as being in “moderate” condition and three in “mild” condition.
Police spokesperson Eli Levy mentioned that the suspect involved in the incident was apprehended, and the injured individuals were transported to hospitals for medical attention. He said the motive behind the attack remains uncertain, and the possibility of additional suspects at large has not been ruled out, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
