Islamabad: Encouraging news comes from the country’s oil and gas sector as new gas reserves have been discovered in North Waziristan.
According to a statement by Mari Petroleum Gas, the discovery was made during the drilling of the Shiva 2 well in Waziristan, which will yield 0.607 million cubic feet of gas per day. Drilling of the Shiva 2 well was started on June 2, 2023.
The well was drilled up to a depth of 4577m MD/ 4000 MTVD and this new discovery is expected to contribute to the improvement of the country’s gas reserves.
