Pakistan Govt. to Set Up 10,000 e-Rozgar Centers for Freelancers

Islamabad: The caretaker government has launched a project to establish E-Rozgar centers across the country for the facilitation of freelancers.

According to news agencies, the caretaker Prime Minister  Anwar ul Haq Kakar will formally inaugurate the significant project on Thursday, under which 10,000 E-Rozgar centers will be established for freelancers.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of IT, Dr. Umar Saif, the caretaker Minister for IT, revealed that approximately 1.5 million freelancers are working regularly in the country, but most of them do not have access to such facilities. Now, with the government’s initiative, well-equipped E-Rozgar centers will provide employment opportunities for 100 people in each center.

Under the project, each center will have 100 working stations, catering to 1 million freelancers, allowing them to earn $10 billion worth of foreign exchange annually.

He said that the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication had the most successful 4 months under the caretaker government, and 13 revolutionary initiatives have been taken for the advancement of this field. In the short term, with the full support of the Specialized Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), direct benefits to the public are expected, and the pathways for significant investments in the country are becoming more accessible.
