Babar Azam Drops 2 Spots in ICC Test Rankings, While Kohli Rises by 3 Positions

Dubai: Former Pakistani captain Babar Azam has dropped down two spots in the ICC rankings, while the former Indian captain, Virat Kohli has risen by three spots.

According to official sources, according to the International Cricket Council’s  Test Batters rankings, New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson is at the top with 864 rating points, while the second spot is held by England’s Joe Root with 859 points.

Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are in the third and fourth spots, respectively, showing excellent performance in Test matches for their team. Meanwhile, former Indian captain Virat Kohli is in the sixth spot, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam after being out of form for the past few series has slipped down from the sixth spot to the eighth position with 768 rating points.

Mohammad Rizwan’s outstanding innings of 88 runs in the first innings of the Sydney Test earned him a significant leap, securing the 17th spot with 668 rating points. Saud Shakeel, with 693 rating points, moved to the 14th position.

In the bowling department, Aamer Jamal’s excellent performance in the debut series earned him a promotion of 12 places, reaching the 45th spot, while Shaheen Afridi has secured the 12th spot with 733 points.
