Ismail Haniyeh Calls on Muslim States to Support Resistance with Weapons

Doha: Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, urged Muslim states on Tuesday to support the resistance in Gaza with weapons, stating that the world is providing Israel with arms.

During a speech in Doha, Ismail Haniyeh called on Muslim states to support the Palestinian resistance forces with weapons against the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF), saying that the world is arming Israel.

“We see countries of the world pouring weapons into the occupation (Israel)… The time has come (for Muslim states) to support the resistance with weapons, because this is… not the battle of the Palestinian people alone,” Haniyeh said in a speech in Doha, according to a transcript shared by the group with journalists.

Haniyeh said that as long as all Palestinian prisoners are not released from Israeli jails, Israel will never be able to recover its prisoners. Hamas leader stated that Israel had set three goals: the end of resistance, the recovery of prisoners, and the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza to Egyptian territory. Haniyeh said that despite Israel’s “massacre and genocide” in the Gaza Strip, it has failed to achieve any of its goals.

He further mentioned that on October 7, the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation was launched to push the Palestinian issue back onto the agenda. He stated that three developments led to the operation: Marginalization of the Palestinian cause globally,  displacement and harassment of Palestinians by the zionist Israeli occupying forces and its attempts to occupy the al-Aqsa Mosque, and Normalization between Muslim states and Israel.

He said hundreds of Israeli occupying soldiers have been killed by the resistance, turning Gaza into Israel’s graveyard. Haniyeh emphasized that like the United States, Israel will also face a disastrous defeat.

Haniyeh urged Muslim countries to support the Palestinian resistance with weapons, saying that the world is arming Israel. He concluded by stating that until all Palestinian prisoners are released, Israel will not be able to reclaim its own prisoners, and their resistance will continue.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of Israeli aggression in Gaza on October 7, the Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of nearly 23,357, including around 10,000 children and 7,000 women, and 59,410 Palestinians have been injured severely, and more than 8,000 Palestinians have been missing. According to UNICEF,  more than 10 children a day lose one or both legs in Gaza due to Israeli attacks.

Among those martyred in Israeli bombings in Gaza, there are 606 members of medical staff and 112 journalists. Additionally, more than 40 personnel from the Civil Defense have also lost their lives.

In the last 24 hours, Israel has killed at least 147 Palestinians. Moreover, since October 7 Israel has arrested 5,755 Palestinians including 190 women and 335 children.

Furthermore, 70% infrastructure in Gaza has been either destroyed or damaged in Israeli attacks and over 2 million people or 85% population of the Gaza Strip have been displaced out of its total population of 2.3 million. The UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths has said that “Gaza has simply become uninhabitable”

Since October 7, Israel has carried out 600 attacks on hospitals and medical infrastructure, killing 616 people within the healthcare facilities of whom 606 were in Gaza and 7 in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, at least 340 Palestinians killed by Israel including more than 84 children while 4,000 have been injured.
