Karachi: Police have arrested five suspects involved in the murder of a Jamaat-e-Islami worker in the Orangi Town area of Karachi, including one who was also involved in a bomb blast.
As per the details the Karachi Police, while solving the mystery of the murder of Jamaat-e-Islami worker Waseem Sadiqi, apprehended five suspects, three of whom are contract killers, and the other two are the ones who paid for the murder.
According to SSP District West Karachi Arif Aslam Rao, the arrested suspects, Muhammad Waseem and Shahzaib, are relatives of the deceased murder victim, and they hired contract killers to carry out the killing in exchange for a sum of 350,000 rupees. He informed that the arrested contract killers include Zafar Muhammad, Sheikh Majid Ali and Ahmed Rashid, who was initially paid Rs 80 thousand.
SSP District West further stated that Zafar and Sheikh Majid were paid 25,000 rupees each, while Ahmed received 30,000 rupees. He mentioned that Sheikh Majid Ali is the partner of Zafar and Ahmed is the bike rider, and together they executed the murder plot.
SSP West Arif Aslam Rao revealed that Zafar was also involved in a bomb blast outside the Orangi police station on June 13, 2004.
It should be noted that Jamaat-e-Islami worker Waseem Siddiqui was shot and killed near the Orangi Town Jamaatul Mursaleen mosque on January 2, 2024.
