Caracas: The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, while explaining the victimization of the Palestinian people for more than 75 years, has drawn parallels with the Holocaust.
In a statement to the Mexican newspaper La Jornada, Nicolás Maduro criticized the international community for remaining “silent” in the face of the Palestinian tragedy. Recalling the Holocaust, Nicolás Maduro asserted that the Palestinian population has faced “genocide” for over 75 years, “the worst part of the genocide is complicity and silence”. He characterized the situation as a parallel to the “Holocaust” endured by the Jewish people under Adolf Hitler and the Nazis.
He said that the Western elites are complicit in this genocide. Criticizing America he asserted that bombs made by America are exterminating innocent Palestinian citizens.
Nicolás Maduro said the international courts act to stop the genocide of Palestinians that is taking place before the eyes of the world.
Expressing solidarity with Palestinian aspirations, he said, “We are aware of the sufferings of boys and girls in Palestine, and the struggle and resistance of the Palestinian people are the struggle and resistance of our people.”
