Japan Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 62

Tokyo: The death toll in Japan has risen to 62 due to the earthquake in the central prefecture of Ishikawa.

According to details, there are reports of several deaths and injuries in the prefectures of Ishikawa, Niigata, Fukushima, Toyama, and Gifu. The earthquake has left at least 62 people dead.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio mentioned in a press briefing on Tuesday that rescue teams are encountering difficulties in reaching affected areas where buildings have crumbled, roads are in disrepair, and a large number of homes are without power. According to reports, he stated that sending heavy machinery is also proving challenging. They are considering ways to secure the roads, and the use of maritime vessels could be an option.

It is worth noting that the earthquake in Japan, with an initial magnitude of 7.6, occurred on Monday afternoon, leading to the issuance of a tsunami warning at the governmental level, prompting residents in coastal regions to move to higher ground due to tsunami waves along the west coast.
