Pakistan Stock Exchange Witnesses Significant Decline

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) faced a noticeable decline in the early hours of intra-day trading, falling below the 60,200 mark.

At 10:40 AM, during the benchmark session, the Karachi Stock Exchange-100 (KSE-100) index at Pakistan Stock Exchange observed a negative trend, dropping by 1460.86. Consequently, the market is currently trading at 60,244.23, reflecting a 2.37% change.

According to market analysts, investors chose to book profits last week, resulting in the closure of the benchmark index in the red. They anticipate that the market might undergo a correction while moving forward.

After the COVID-19 crisis, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) exhibited its worst weekly performance, witnessing a decrease of 4,425 points or 6.69% in a week.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) maintained its stability, gaining a 0.26% advantage against the US Dollar, closing at PKR 282.53 at the end of the week.
