Colombo: A Sri Lankan author’s book written on Quaid-e-Azam has broken the record for first-day sales.
According to details, the launching ceremony of the book titled “Ali Jinnah, Silver Voice of Asia,” written by Sri Lankan author Chandana Wijekoon, took place at the Colombo International Book Fair. Later, another book launch event was held at St. John’s College, with Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner Wajid Hussain as the special guest.
During the event, Major General (Retired) Prathap, a Sri Lankan, delivered a special address. Several other authors, journalists, and senior military officers also participated in the ceremony.
Major General (Retired) Prathap stated that Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s services to the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent are invaluable. Rasanjali Jaya Tika, the Deputy Principal of St. John’s College, expressed appreciation for the author during the book launch.
On this occasion, the Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan shed light on the deep relations between the two countries, expressing gratitude to the author.
During the launching ceremony, 6,000 copies of the book were sold during the event which showcased the popularity of Quaid-e-Azam even outside of Pakistan.
