Prague: In the Czech Republic, an armed individual entered Charles University, indiscriminately opened fire, and killed 15 people, leaving more than two dozen injured.
According to international media reports, in the city of Pardubice in the Czech Republic, an armed person entered Charles University and carried out a blind shooting. As a result of the firing, 15 people have lost their lives, and over two dozen have been injured, with some in critical condition.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police surrounded the university and engaged the assailant in a counter-operation, resulting in the assailant being killed. The identity of the attacker has been kept confidential.
The Interior Minister of the Czech Republic stated that, according to our investigations, there is no evidence so far connecting the incident to any terrorist or extremist group. After evacuating the university, the police conducted a thorough search with the Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs, as there were concerns that the assailant may have planted explosive materials in the building.
