Karachi: A building in Jaffar Chowk, Machar Colony, collapsed due to a gas cylinder blast, resulting in three deaths and injuring 17 others.
The blast originated from a gas cylinder shop within the building, affecting an adjacent building and a nearby vehicle.
According to initial reports, the blast was caused by a gas cylinder in Karachi’s Machar Colony which resulted in the collapse of a two-storey building. The explosion occurred during a gas transfer in the shop, involving a vehicle transporting gas cylinders for supply.
Rescue authorities have evacuated 4 injured individuals, including women, from the building. Among the injured, all four including 2 women suffered from burns injuries.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene, and there is still concern about the possibility of more people being trapped. Rescue operations are underway.
According to officials, 8 injured individuals and the bodies of 3 deceased persons have been transferred to the Civil Hospital.
