The Hague: The right-wing, anti-Islam populist leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV), Geert Wilders, has won the most seats in the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands.
According to international news agencies, Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom won 37 out of 150 seats in the general elections, while his rivals on the left, the alliance of the Labor Party and the Green Left, with their joint ticket, secured only 25 seats.
While Mark Rutte’s People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, according to election results, has obtained 24 seats. According to British news agencies, this success of theParty for Freedom (PVV) will be a severe blow to the entire European Union. In the previous elections, the party had only secured 17 seats.
It is noteworthy that the extremely hateful Islamophobic Dutch politician Geert Wilders had announced in 2019 his intention to organize a provocative cartoon competition, which was later canceled due to intense global pressure.
