Israel and Hamas Agree on 4-Day Truce, Hostages to be Released

Gaza: Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement for a 4-day truce in the fight. As part of the deal, in exchange for 150 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel, 50 Israeli hostages in Gaza will be released, and humanitarian aid will be permitted to enter Gaza.

Qatari authorities, involved in secret negotiations, have indicated that a trilateral agreement is imminent involving the United States, Israel, and Hamas.

It is believed that more than 200 Israeli hostages have been held by Hamas, who were taken into Gaza when Hamas forces infiltrated Israel on October 7.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that 50 women and children would be released during the 4-day truce. Additionally, for every extra 10 hostages released, the truce duration would be extended by one day.

Hamas stated that in exchange for the release of 50 hostages, Israel would free 150 Palestinian women and children. The Palestinian group mentioned in a statement that the truce agreement would allow for the entry of numerous trucks carrying humanitarian, medical, and fuel aid into Gaza.

During the truce, Israel committed not to launch attacks or make arrests in any part of Gaza. In the four-day truce, all air traffic over southern Gaza will be completely halted, and from 10 AM to 4 PM daily, there will be a six-hour pause in Northern Gaza.
