New York: Argentina’s renowned footballer, Lionel Messi, has donated 6 of his jerseys that he had worn during the FIFA World Cup 2022 which are set to be auctioned by Sotheby’s in New York.
Sotheby’s in an announcement on Monday, revealed that a collection of six jerseys, worn by Messi during Argentina’s triumphant campaign in the FIFA World Cup 2022, are set to be auctioned in December. The esteemed auction house estimates the value of these jerseys to exceed $10 million.
The shirts were worn by the football icon in crucial matches of the World Cup, including the first halves of group-stage matches against Saudi Arabia and Mexico, as well as subsequent games against Australia, the Netherlands, and Croatia.
