During the meeting, discussions took place on Pakistan’s political situation and mutual interests. Blome’s meeting with Nawaz happened immediately after a meeting with British Ambassador Jane Marriott in Lahore, where he also met with Maryam Nawaz.
After returning to the country in October following a four-year exile, Nawaz Sharif has gradually increased his political activities. While he has not addressed any public gatherings since his return, Nawaz has been meeting with political figures and working to strengthen the party ranks ahead of the upcoming elections.
In addition to announcing an alliance with MQM, PML-N has also invited electables to join the party in their constituencies. More than 30 leaders from Balochistan have already joined the party.
