Karachi: Following the emergence of polio cases in Sindh, the polio eradication campaign will kick off in the province from 27th November to 3rd December.
According to the provincial health department, after the reporting of polio cases and the detection of positive environmental samples recently, the polio eradication campaign will begin in 30 districts of the province.
The campaign, scheduled to run for seven days from November 27 to 3rd December, aims to reach more than one million children across the province.
It is noteworthy that starting from November 27, a nationwide anti-polio campaign will also commence throughout the country. As part of this initiative, the polio eradication campaign will commence in 30 districts of Sindh, including Karachi, and conclude on December 3.
It is important to mention that out of the 64 environmental samples collected nationwide in the past year, poliovirus has been found in 5, with 2 cases reported in Karachi.
