Islamabad: Former captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam, has raised his voice in support of Gaza on social media.
On the social media platform ‘Instagram,’ he posted a picture of an innocent girl from Gaza holding a Palestinian flag. He also shared a couplet by the famous Urdu poet Altaf Hussain Hali as a caption to the post which reads:
اے خاصہ خاصان رسل وقت دعا ہے
امت پہ تیری آ کے عجب وقت پڑا ہے
(O most special one of the Messengers, the time for prayer has come
Your followers (Ummah) have come upon a most strange time)

Before former captain Babar Azam, after winning the Man of the Match award against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup, national cricketer Mohammad Rizwan had dedicated his award to the people of Gaza and showed his support on social media platform ‘X’. His post on X (formerly Twitter) caused an uproar in India.
