Islamabad: The caretaker federal minister of IT and Telecommunications Dr. Umar Saif, has stated that Pakistan is working on a balanced space policy that not only safeguards our national interests but also makes us capable of benefiting from the rapid advancements in the private sector.
These remarks were made by Dr. Saif while presiding over a meeting regarding Pakistan’s National Space Policy. The meeting included detailed discussions to finalize the National Space Policy. Secretary IT Hasan Nasir Jami was also present at the event.
Participants in the meeting included officials from SUPARCO, PTA, SPD, and relevant authorities and representatives of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Dr. Umar Saif highlighted that Pakistan is working on a balanced space policy that protects our national interests while also positioning us to benefit from the private sector’s rapid advancements, such as Starlink and others.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of IT, Ayesha Humaira Moriani, along with senior officers from the Ministry of IT.
