Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to include an additional 1 million people in the tax net to increase tax collection.
According to a report from a private television channel, the Federal Board of Revenue has decided, under the Pakistan Revenue Resilience Program (PRRP), to include an additional 1 million individuals in the tax net.
While working on the revenue generation strategy, the FBR has prepared a comprehensive plan to expand the tax net. As part of this plan, the FBR authorities have decided to bring in an additional 1 million individuals into the tax net.
According to authorities, the responsibilities for making non-filers into filers have been assigned to all regional tax offices, and specific targets have been set. The responsibilities of officers will be divided into two parts, and there is a possibility of assigning the responsibility of achieving targets to 100 officers from the Audit and Operations Zone.
According to sources, some officers will be tasked with making non-filers taxpayers solely by handling pending cases, while others may be assigned the responsibility of increasing the tax net by handling new cases.
