70 to 80 Percent of Businesses Affected in Peshawar Due to Inflation

Peshawar: Rising inflation and an uncertain economic situation have severely impacted business centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Peshawar. Around 70% to 80% of businesses in Peshawar have been adversely affected. While shops are open, there is an equivalent absence of customers.

The inflation and increasing insecurity have taken a toll on Peshawar’s commercial centers. Where once citizens flocked to shop, today the absence of customers is noticeable.

Traders state that recent inflation has caused significant losses in business, making it difficult for them even to offer discounts to customers. Representatives of traders have attributed the wrong taxation policies, along with inflation and other factors, as significant reasons for the decline in business. They say that if relief is not provided by the government, even the remaining businesses may disappear.
