Islamabad: Corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and other politicians have been reopened by NAB (National Accountability Bureau).
According to a private TV channel’s report, NAB has written a formal letter to the accountability court asking to reopen 80 corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and other politicians.
In light of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s verdict, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to reopen 80 corruption cases in the NAB court in Islamabad. In this regard, the accountability court registrar has been informed through a letter that all the case records will be presented before the court.
Citing sources, the report states that following the court order, cases against the former president and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Zardari, PML-N leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, former Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah, PML-N leader and former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and 80 others have been reopened. Additionally, the Assets Beyond Means case against former federal finance minister Ishaq Dar has also been reopened.
According to NAB court sources, fake accounts cases against former president Asif Ali Zardari have also been reopened. The rental power case against National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has been opened. Cases regarding Toshakhana luxury vehicles against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and Yousuf Raza Gilani have also been reopened. NAB will present the record before the court.
