Washington: U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen has refuted claims of the Biden administration meddling in Pakistani politics. Speaking to the media after participating in an event organized by the Pakistan Doctors Organization’s DMV Chapter, he stated that he has been in contact with the Biden administration for some time, emphasizing that the administration is not interfering in Pakistani politics.
He mentioned that there have been no attempts to interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs, and it is up to the Pakistani people to choose their leaders. Senator Van Hollen stressed the importance of respecting the will of the Pakistani people and advocating for free and fair elections in Pakistan.
He expressed that both the United States and the global community desire strong and bilateral relations with Pakistan, as stability and security in Pakistan are crucial worldwide.
Discussing American cooperation with Pakistan, Senator Van Hollen highlighted the assistance provided by the U.S. in rebuilding Pakistan after last year’s devastating floods. He noted that the U.S. played a key role in gathering funds for the relief efforts and praised the IMF for announcing immediate economic relief.
