Sharif Govt. Borrowed 13 Trillion (13,000 Billion) Rupees in Loan in Fiscal Year 2023

Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan has released details of loans until June 30, 2023. According to the report, the federal government’s debt has increased by more than 13 trillion (13,000 Billion) rupees in a year, while the total volume of internal and external debts has reached 60.839 trillion rupees.

As per the statistics, in June 2022, the government’s total debt volume was 47.832 trillion rupees. After an increase of more than 13 trillion rupees in a year, the overall debt volume has reached 60.839 trillion rupees.

According to the central bank, internal loans have increased by 7.723 trillion rupees to 38.808 trillion rupees, while the volume of external loans has increased by 5.282 trillion rupees to 22.030 trillion rupees. Short-term loans amount to 9.335 trillion rupees, while long-term loans amount to 21.985 trillion rupees.
