President Arif Alvi Dissolves the National Assembly on Prime Minister’s Advice

Islamabad: Acting upon the advice of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the President of the country approved the summary sent by the PM and has dissolved the National Assembly, along with the Federal Cabinet of Pakistan.

According to media sources, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wrote a letter to President Arif Alvi on Wednesday, requesting the dissolution of the National Assembly. The Prime Minister had sent a signed summary for the dissolution of the National Assembly to the President of the country, Dr. Arif Alvi, which was approved by Dr. Arif Alvi after a short delay.

Sources indicate that until the formal appointment of a caretaker Prime Minister, Sharif will continue to handle the affairs as the Prime Minister. Under the constitution, elections will be held within 90 days.
