Melbourne: Hamza Khan made history by winning the World Junior Squash Championship for Pakistan in the city of Melbourne, Australia, after 37 long years.
Playing in the World Junior Championship held in Melbourne, Pakistani player Hamza Khan secured a victory in the final against Egypt’s player Zakaria with a scoreline of 10-12, 14-12, 11-3, and 11-6, winning the match 3-1.

Before this, the last Pakistani player to lift the trophy was Jahangir Khan, who won the title 37 years ago in 1986.
The final between Hamza and Zakaria started in an intriguing manner, with two back-to-back games played in an exciting style, concluding on a tiebreaker. However, Hamza confidently won the next two games to secure the victory 3-1.
During this match, Zakaria managed to secure a narrow victory in the second game, which continued for 26 minutes and ended with a score of 12-10.
It was a thrilling contest as Pakistan was trailing 8-10, but Zakaria squandered two crucial game points, leading to the match being tied at 14-12. It must be noted that in the final, Hamza and Egypt’s player, Zakaria faced each other, and with an excellent display of skill, Hamza defeated Zakaria to claim the title for himself.
