Ronaldo Dismisses European Leagues, Says SPL is Better

Riyadh: Star footballer Ronaldo, who joined Saudi club Al-Nassr last year under a lucrative deal, has stated that there is no chance of him playing for any European club anymore.

In an interview, Ronaldo mentioned that the Saudi league is superior to the Major League Soccer in the United States, citing Lionel Messi’s recent move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after his contract ended with the French club.

Ronaldo expressed contentment with his decision to join Al-Nassr, as he paved the way for top footballers to participate in the Saudi league. The Portuguese star emphasized that multiple European leagues have lost their charm, and he is 100% certain that he won’t join any European club again. At 38 years old, Ronaldo believes that European football has also lost some of its special qualities, with only the English Premier League maintaining the correct direction and being far ahead of other leagues.

He stated that La Liga has lost its standard, and the German league has also lost many of its unique features, while the Saudi league surpasses them both. Now, all the top players are coming here, and more players will arrive within a year, he added.

It should be noted that Ronaldo had signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Al-Nassr club, under which he will receive a salary of more than $200 million per year. For the past few months, there were rumors suggesting that Ronaldo might leave Al-Nassr and attempt to rejoin his former club, Real Madrid.
