PMC meeting yields key decisions for media welfare and skill development

KARACHI: The Pakistan Media Club (PMC) convened a significant meeting in Karachi on Friday, June 9, 2023. The session witnessed the presence of esteemed members, including Chairman Zia Khan, Secretary Arman Sabir, Manager Admin Labeeba Ahmed, Joint Secretary Khalil Jabran, Shaishta Iqbal, and other industry professionals. The meeting resulted in the formulation of crucial decisions that intend to shape the future of PMC.

During the meeting, the following decisions were made:

1. Self-Sponsorship and Revenue Generation: Partners unanimously pledged their commitment to self-sponsor PMC’s media personnel welfare and skill development objectives. To achieve this, they expressed their determination to generate revenue through sponsored programs, trainings, workshops, and seminars, with the aim of accounting for 70% to 80% of the overall income.

2. Enhanced Management and Interaction: Recognizing the importance of effective management and fostering interaction among members, it was decided to hold weekly meetings. These regular catch-ups will serve as a platform for addressing PMC affairs, sharing ideas, and providing suggestions and opinions. All members are requested to ensure their attendance and actively participate in shaping the club’s future endeavors.

3. Media Enclave Plot Booking Deadline: A deadline of June 11th was set for interested members to book plots at a discounted rate in the prestigious Media Enclave. After the deadline, Bawani Group will take charge, and the fixed price per plot will be set.

4. Presentation by Bawani Group: Bawani Group, responsible for the development of Media Enclave, presented a comprehensive overview of the project’s design and structure. The presentation addressed all queries raised by the members, assuaging concerns related to design and material choices. Bawani Group provided detailed answers, offering reassurance and instilling confidence among the attendees.

The PMC meeting concluded on a positive note, with members actively engaging in shaping the club’s future path. These decisions pave the way for a stronger and more vibrant PMC, dedicated to the welfare and development of media personnel in Pakistan.
