Earlier on Friday, the game between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiator ended without result as both teams shared one point each.
The game was hit by persistent rain. It was only the 2nd time when a cricket match in Sharjah was abandoned due to rain in last 34 years.
While batting first, Peshawar Zalmi were restricted to 117/3 in 16 overs. Tamim Iqbal (62*) and Sohaib Maqsood(28*) were prominent from Zalmi.
When Quetta openers took the field, the match was already reduced to 6 overs. They needed 55 runs off it, which was a tough ask in spin conditions. I would say Quetta were lucky enough the rain finally stopped play and they got one point. As they say, something is better than nothing.
