KARACHI: Renowned Qawwal and Naat Khuwaan, Amjad Sabri, who was killed Wednesday noon in Karachi during a gun attack, was the son of late Ghulam Fareed Sabri, a world famous Qawwal himself.
According to media reports, Amjad Sabri’s car came under attack ear Lalu Khait # 10 area of Liaqatabad. He received 6 out of 11 bullets fired upon his car. Along with him, his relative Salim Sabri also received bullet injuries.
Sabri was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
“Amjad Sabri expired on the way to the hospital,” police surgeon Rohina Hasan said. “He was shot three times.”
