Every year technology sector is upgraded with the necessary changes in Pakistan. Mobile brands are no exception and they upgrade in less than a year’s time as this sector changes in days. So here we are with the summary of 2016 regarding the mobile brands in Pakistan.
QMobile has made it possible to have a smartphone as reasonable as Rs.5000. Pakistan is the only country in world where a local mobile brand, ‘QMobile’ is the hottest in market for several past years.
This year, there is one player which has recently joined the market, Alcatel.
But 2016 has been a bit tragic for some mobile phone brands like SONY, Club Mobile, MMobile, VIGO Tel, RIVO, GRIGHT and OPHONE as they are near to closing down in Pakistan.
Two brands that immediately made their place in market are now in precarious position. Main reason behind this position is that they did no depend upon any distributor for their distribution.
Two international brands, ‘Samsung’ with 15% market share and ‘Huawei’ are now rivaling each other. Huawei is getting more market share day by day in 4G smartphones which is 1/4th of the market.
Furthermore, Infinix was launched by Daraz.pk as part of strategy to target young generation as it is available online only yet paving smartly.
Another brand, Microsoft is trying make a place in market by rolling out different devices but the efforts went in vain due to the Android dominated market. Another brand is making its place in market that is Lenovo, which is getting better market share.
Moreover, mobile operators have also entered this field but they have failed to scrape a place. These include Telenor and Jazz X. main reasons behind their flop are low quality and specifications.
