PCB reaps 7.5 million profit from Pakistan Cup

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Executive Committee, Najam Sethi has told media that the boar earned Rs 7.5 million profit from inaugural Pakistan Cup 2016 one-day tournament, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

Sethi while addressing a press conference in Lahore revealed that Pakistan’s domestic tournaments, despite the millions of rupees investment, had failed to produce results for PCB and were a ‘complete lose’.

Even Pakistan’s top domestic tournament Quaid e Azam Trophy had failed to pull crowd’s attention.

“Unlike the other experiences, PSL-like franchise-based Pakistan Cup has produced Rs 75 lakh (7.5 million) profit, which can be considered a hit keeping match duration and hot weather of Faisalabad in mind,” Sethi told media.

The trophy of Pakistan Cup 2016 was lifted up by Younis Khan-led KPK team and the winning price was Rs 2 million.
