PCB serves show cause notice to Younis Khan

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally served a show cause notice to former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) captain Younis Khan for leaving tournament in the midway over umpiring row.

The development came after PCB held a meeting to discuss the issue in Lahore.

According to sources, PCB chief wanted Younis to rejoin the tournament as reported earlier, but most of t he senior PCB official were against the decision.

Now, PCB in its latest press release has stated that “Younis Khan cannot be permitted to  rejoin the tournament, Pakistan cup is over for him.”

PCB also issued a show cause notice to former Test skipper, he would have to submit a response within next seven days.

Younis Khan had earlier apologised to PCB chief on phone and showed willingness to join the team again.

Cricket experts believe that PCB is resolute not to surrender to ‘star power’ and if Younis do not submit apology, his career may be on stake!

Earlier, KPK coach Kabir Khan stated Tuesday that Younis can not be the part of KPK team unless PCB gives clear orders for his inclusion.

‘Can’t play Younis without PCB’s direction’

PCB had formed a inquiry committee to probe Younis Khan’s matter under level-III.

Younis came in hot water when he left ongoing Pakistan Cup 2016 in protest of bad umpiring.

He later on phoned PCB chief and said ‘he was sorry for his unwise act’ and expressed desire to go back and rejoin team.

But, KPK team management is reluctant to include him in the team, looking forward to a clear instructions from PCB.
