PCB launches inquiry against Umar Akmal and five players

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an inquiry against Umar Akmal  and five other players who were allegedly involved in a brawl at  theatre in Faisalabad.

According to reports, middle order Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal who is representing Balochistan team in the ongoing Pakistan Cup was caught in the camera at a local theatre in Faisalabad along with five other players of the team.

The controversial cricketer, who was last caught in Hyderabad attending a dance party, was filmed watching a drama “Kurian ballay bally” at a theatre in Faisalabad, where Pakistan Cup is being played.

Reports suggest that Umar Akmal wanted a dance performance to be re-performed. The exchange of harsh words turned into a clash.

The cricketer left the theatre immediately after being identified by people.

Shahid Yousuf, Bilawal Bhatti, Mohammad Nawaz and Awais Zia are prominent players named in the case.

PCB has ordered a probe into the matter, hinting ‘no mercy’ policy for those who found involved.

However, Umar Akmal has denied all the allegations of any fight, requesting media not to highlight his ‘personal life.’

“There was no fight. I went there to watch the drama & be entertained. I watched the drama and then went back to the hotel,” says Umar.
