Sindh govt to extend Rangers special powers for 90 days

KARACHI: Government of Sindh Saturday has decided to extend Rangers special powers for 90 days.

According to media reports, Sindh government has decided to extend the special powers of Rangers for 90 days and interior minister Sindh has send the summary to Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah in this regard.

The special policing powers to the paramilitary force, which is conducting a surgical operation in Karachi, are to be extended for 90 more days

The powers extended are ‘unconditional’, similar to the authority given in 2013 at the start of the operation, allowing the paramilitary force to question any person suspected to be involved in terrorism directly or indirectly, according to Express Tribune soures.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ranger’s special powers duration are ending at 3 May.
