LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar khan announced to appoint a former Test captain Inzamam ulHaq as a new Chief Selector on Monday.
Inzimam was working as a head coach of the Afghanistan cricket team, when contacted by PCB he has requested ACB to release him in order to join PCB.
Former Test captain took charge as a chief selector for PCB while sources have reported that he was chosen for the job out of no where on PM house recommendation.
Sources also suggested that PM Nawaz had barred PCB chief strictly from any appointment without his permission.
Later on PCB received the name of the former Test captain InzamamUlHaq as a chief selector.
Former cricketers including moin Khan, Mohsin Khan ans Iqbal qasim who were considered among favourites for the post showed their concerns over Inzimam’s out of the blue appointment.
Inzamam headed Pakistan in 31 Test matches, Pakistan won and lose 11 each and others tied.
He also captained Pakistan in 87 ODIs, won 31 and lost 33, 3 matches were tied.
Pakistan team has faced a lot of hurdle during his disputed tenure while he retired dramatically from his career and demanded one billion Pakistan rupees .
