ISLAMABAD: The current cricketing debacle has pushed Pakistan over the edge thrice in a row. Rumors and reports are surfacing everyday.
The biggest reported issue in the team is the on going tussle between Hafeez and Afridi. Reports inform the Muhammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Ahmed Shehzad and Umer Akmal collaborated to push Afridi out of the team.
Ahmed Shehzad and Shoaib Malik issued statements that they respect Afridi and just want Pakistan to win and on the other hand Hafeez trying to prove his innocence went far ahead of others by reciting Kalima over the issue.
Questions on social media have been pointing out to the fact that after Sharjeel and Afridi built a good score in 6 overs (70 runs) the following batsmen did not even try to hit any big shots instead went for a slower approach completely contrary to the T20 format.
On the other hand Waseem Akram stated that he is more than happy to help Pakistani cricket whenever required. He is who he is due to Pakistan cricket and not because of his critics. However, rumors have been circulating that Waseem Akram is gunning for the Coach position currently held by Waqar Yunus.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Sheharyar Khan also hinted that he has heard such reports however dismissed that Waseem is the notion that Waseem is the final option.
Waseem Akram however stated that he has only been giving advises yet did not comment whether or not he is gunning for the coach position himself.
With Afridi and Waqar out of the team along with Chief Selector Haroon Rasheed it is likely that Hafeez and Waseem will have their way.
But the question remains that, would Pakistan Cricket Board allow such atrocities at the cost of Pakistan’s prestige and respect in the international community.
