Sindh Government declares 24 March public Holi-day for minorities

KARACHI: Days after a resolution calling for national holidays moved by PML-N MNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani Sindh Government declared a public holiday on 24th March for Hindu minorities.

Kumar moved a resolution for national holidays on Holi, Diwali and Easter as holiday for minorities in National Assembly.

While the minorities awaited a notification from Pakistan Government, the first initiative came from Sindh Government. The first ever official holiday was approved through a Sindh Government notification.

Hindu community in Sindh would now have the leisure of public holiday on their spring festival of color. Hindus in Pakistan observe Holi at the end of winter on the last full moon of the lunar month.
