MUMBAI: Former Pakistani cricketers and media persons expressed anger over Shahid Afridi statements while Indian legendary cricketer appreciated Afridi’s feeling for Indian cricket lovers, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Indian legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said that “When it comes to Pakistan-India match emotions are always on peak.”
Indian cricketer claimed that Shahid Afridi;s statement will help Pakistan during match against India because crowd will not overly hostile on Pakistan team.
He said that former Pakistani cricketers and Pakistani media showed over reaction on the statement of Shahid Afridi.
Earlier, head coach of Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis, came in support of T20 skipper Shahid Afridi and defend the statement given by Shahid Afridi.
While addressing press conference in Kolkata, Head coach of Pakistan cricket team said their is nothing controversial in Afridi’s statement.
Waqar Younis claimed that Indians loves cricket and give respect to cricket players. While talking about Pakistan-Bangladesh match, he said that Bangladesh team is performing well and Pakistani team needs to perform well to grab win in the first group match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2016.
On a question he answered that Shahid Afridi will be available for Pakistan-Bangladesh and he is recovering quickly as he is suffering from fever.
