SHARJAH: Islamabad United thrash Lahore Qalandars by 8 wickets in 9th encounter of Pakistan Super League(PSL) to register their second and most important win in the tournament.
After winning the toss, Islamabad standing captain Shane Watson put Lahore on bat.
Everyone was shocked by the decision as the pitch looked good for batting, but United bowlers bowled really well to keep Lahore Qalandars openers at bay.
Wicket keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan (50*) and Dwane Bravo (32) played a handy knock for Qalandars to bring them to 166/6 in given 20 overs.
United’s Mhammad Sami bowled brilliantly for his 2 for 21 in 3 overs.
Islamabad in reply were superb from the first over. Hyderabad-origin left-arm batter Sharjeel Khan began to took on them straightaway and then Watson too stretched his arms.
There were many catches dropped Lahore Qalandars.
Watson (79) and Sharjeel (79) capitalized on it and went on thrashing Qalandars bowlers all over the ground.
