PIA crisis: flight operation partially resumed

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines’ flight operations have further improved as around three dozen flights were operated from different destinations, while work at the airlines headquarters also partially resumed after a pause of a week.

According to PIA’s spokesman Danyal Gillani, the flight operations from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Gilgit airports have been restored. He expressed the hope that things will normalize soon.

He clarified that there is no truth in media reports regarding aircraft operating with technical faults.

He said PIA has always maintained recommended standards of passenger and aircraft safety and never compromised on them.

The spokesman said at present, the airlines has been focusing on transportation of Umrah pilgrims, besides restoring domestic operations.
