PSL: Karachi Kings dismantle Lahore Qalandars in their opener

DUBAI: High-flying Karachi Kings stamped star-studded Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets in the second game of Pakistan Super League (PSL), at Dubai International stadium, UAE.

Karachi Kings won the toss and chose to field. It proved the right decision for Malik as he got his man in the very first over.

Gayle who was apple of eye of this match, hit a gigantic six to Shoaib Malik on 3rd ball of the first over, but lost the plot on the next ball and was out caught in the filed.

Azhar Ali, after him played some nice shots, but missed an arm-delivery from Shakib al Hasan which dismissed his bails. He went on 37 after adding 18 runs to the total.

Cameron Delport was the third man to fall for Qalandars who fell prey to an extra ordinary fielding effort of Iftikhar Ahmed.

Sohaib Maqsood also returned to hut after scoring 20 runs.

Mohammad Rizwan (35) stood for his team ans played some unorthodox shots, well associated by Bravo and took the score to 117 after 18 overs.

Bravo (14) Zohaib Khan (0) too were removed by Amir in 19th over of the game, he was on hat-trick.

He got Cavin Cooper on the next ball to get his careers’ first hat-trick.

Karachi Kings restricted Lahore Qalandars on 125-8.

Kings, in respond were a little shaky in the start, loosing two quick wickets for just 6 runs. But, Shakib al Hasan and Lendl Simmons took the charge and took the game away from Qalandars.

Shakib got out in last moments of the game after scoring a well-crafted fifty. he scored 51 of 35 balls.

It was Simmons (62) who kept his nerves calm and carried the bat.

Karachi Kings chased down the easy-looking target in 16th over with 7 wickets in hand.
