PIA Privatization: Minister assures no PIA worker would be terminated

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman on Wednesday hasĀ assured Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees that not a single employee would be terminated from the services.

PIA workers should get resolved their issues through talks instead of wasting time in protests as the country is facing billions of rupees losses due to demonstrations, he said while speaking to a private news television.

The minister said some nefarious elements had created misconception regarding PIA privatization and also derailed its system by holding protest.

He said PIA had faced Rs 44 billion deficit in 2013 and Rs 28 billion in 2014 but due to hectic efforts of the government it turned around to Rs 19 billion as immense improvement was made in the system.
