AUCKLAND: New Zealand has outclassed Pakistan in third and final match of 3 match series and won the series decider by 3 wickets at Eden Park, Auckland.
Kiwis chased the target of 264 in the last over with three wickets in hand. Also, hosts have won the 3 match series with clear 2-0 margin.
New Zealand needed 53 runs off 45 when play again resumed after the rain and they got their loss of 7 wickets, Corey Anderson scored 35 runs.
Kiwis at one moment 165-1 and it seemed like New Zealand will won the contest quite easily but late charge from Pakistan had put them a bit on back foot and but tail had made them through.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first and put 290 runs on the board courtesy to Mohammad Hafeez and Babar Azam’s 76 and 83 runs respectively.
Pakistan was going very smoothly when Hafeez and Babar were on the crease but then sudden fall of wickets put visitors on back foot and they were only restricted to 290 in 48th over.
Kiwis pacer Adam Milne took three wickets while Trent Boult and Henry grabbed two wickets each.
Earlier Pakistan lost 3 match T20 series against hosts by 2-1 margin.
