Martyred pilot Marium to be given Tamgha-e-Basalat

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to honour first female martyred pilot of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Marium Mukhtiar.

Marium, who was a Flying Officer of Pakistan Air Force martyred in a training jet crash on 24, November, 2015. President Mamnoon Hussain has approved Tamgha-e-Basalat for her courage and devotion.

According to a source, the president approved the award on the recommendation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The medal will be given to Mukhtiar’s parents on March 23 on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
