Keeping foods in fridge keeps them fresh and prevents them to lose flavor. But there are some food that you not keep in fridge.
Honey
The luscious honey will turn into a crystallized gunk if you refrigerate it. Keep it on room temperature for happy honey.
Onions
When stored in a fridge they soften and impart a strong oniony smell on nearby foods. Instead store in cool and dark drawers or cupboards.
Apples
Apples start to lose flavor if kept in the fridge for too long. Keep them on the counter and toss them in the fridge 30 minutes before you want to eat them for a crisper bite.
Ketchup
Yup, your ketchup is just fine in your pantry, even after it has been opened. Because of the amount of vinegar and preservatives, it will do just fine.
Jam
Due to the high amount of preservatives in jams and jellies, they are also OK to store in the pantry after opening.
Coffee
Many think coffee deserves a special place in the fridge or freezer, but it actually is best at room temperature so its natural oils can really flavor your favorite cup of joy.
Nuts
Nuts last longer stored in a cool, dark spot.
