N.Korea claims successful Hydrogen Bomb Test

PYANGYANG: North Korea ion Wednesday has  said that it has successfully tested a hydrogen bomb as a magnitude 5.1 earthquake was measured in the country near the site of an earlier nuclear weapons test, TheNewsTribe.com learnt from International media.

According to ABC News It was not immediately clear what sparked the tremblor, about 12 miles ENE of Sungjibaegam, but the South Korean weather agency said there were signs that it was “artificial.”

A U.S. official said the Pentagon is checking into reports about the quake.

The site of Tuesday’s quake is about 5 miles from the Punggye-ri nuclear site where a test was conducted in 2013.

A quake measured at the site at that time registered the same magnitude. It was later deemed to be a nuclear explosion.
