Lahore: The Punjab government has established Pakistan’s first online cattle market for the convenience of the public regarding Eid al-Adha, allowing citizens to pay for their preferred animals after they reach home.
According to media reports, aiming to simplify the process of buying and selling animals, the Livestock and Dairy Development Department has rolled out a user-friendly online platform, providing citizens with a convenient avenue to browse, purchase, and sell animals, including sacrificial ones, from the comfort of their homes.
A spokesperson for the Punjab government stated that the app, prepared with the assistance of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), will include images, videos, weight, prices, and contact numbers of animal sellers, while the authenticity of the transactions will be guaranteed by Nadra Facilities
This initiative by the Punjab government will not only reduce crowds in markets but also save time and fuel. Moreover, the risk of money being stolen or other incidents on the way will also be eliminated.
The online cattle market app also provides access to a broader market for both buyers and sellers. The public has welcomed the establishment of the online cattle market.
